Zankyou no Terror has been adhering to a kind of formula since it’s first episode. It generally begins with the planting of a bomb and ends with the police either succeeding or failing to stop that bomb in time.

Anime/Manga, HomeThis week, I had two episodes of Zankyou no Terror to watch, and it still felt like only ten minutes had gone by before I was finished with them. Zankyou no Terror gains momentum with every new episode even as it savors the more quiet moments. It’s shaping up to be one of my favorite series of the summer.

Beyond the small bits of info I’d seen through my usual skim of the season’s anime offerings, I didn’t know anything of substance about it, and I didn’t care to. Until I found out Shinichiro Watanabe, of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo fame, was directing.
