Free! Eternal Summer is on the cusp of a dramatic turn. Things have been relatively carefree up to this point, at least concerning the graduation story line. But with so few tournaments left for the third years, stakes are heightened and friendships will be tested.
I’m back from San Diego Comic Con and I’m all caught up on Free! Eternal Summer. While there aren’t too many things going on in episodes four and five, there’s an immense amount of character development, including a spotlight episode for Nagisa. It’s great to see some of the less prominent characters get their day in the limelight.
Last week, I mentioned that I was hoping for some focus on Rei and Nagisa, and Free! Eternal Summer delivered just that.
Welcome back, Free! fans. Today’s episode was packed with new characters and plotlines, so I’m just gonna jump right in (see what I did there?).
Welcome back Free! This time last year, I watched the final episode of season one and chose to believe that, as promised, I’d “see you next summer”. Well, you came through, and you brought some new characters, new challenges, and new relationship dynamics. Come on in folks; the water is fine.
