This week, I had two episodes of Zankyou no Terror to watch, and it still felt like only ten minutes had gone by before I was finished with them. Zankyou no Terror gains momentum with every new episode even as it savors the more quiet moments. It’s shaping up to be one of my favorite series of the summer.
Zankyou no Terror does not waste time getting into the thick of things this week. Not only does it deal with the aftermath of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building bombing, it launches right on into another one.
Zankyou no Terror wasn’t on my radar before today. Beyond the small bits of info I’d seen through my usual skim of the season’s anime offerings, I didn’t know anything of substance about it, and I didn’t care to. Until I found out Shinichiro Watanabe, of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo fame, was directing.
